Shea nuts from the world's best growing area in Uganda

Our Nilotica shea butter is extracted from shea nuts that come from the West African savannah between Uganda and Senegal. The so-called shea belt is one of the best growing areas in the world. The small shea nuts grow on the shea tree, which only blossoms for the first time after around 20 years and can be up to 300 years old. Shea butter is therefore also known under the name karite butter. 
The production of the high-quality natural product is particularly gentle and is carried out with the greatest care by our supplier in Uganda. First and foremost, there is strict quality control of the small nuts, which are checked and sorted out if necessary. The special thing about it: Jolu Naturkosmetik's shea butter is extracted in a cold-pressing process at temperatures below 40 degrees, so that all effective ingredients are preserved.  The color of unrefined shea butter differs from refined shea butter : unrefined shea butter is slightly yellow due to the beta carotene it contains, while the refined version is white.
